Hi everyone,
We had a pretty heated discussion at Sunday lunch about the cost of living and the current state of vat in south africa.
Some of my family members think the list of zero-rated items should be expanded to include things like chicken and feminine hygiene products to help lower-income households.
It’s a complex issue because the government relies so heavily on that revenue for infrastructure and services. I’m curious to hear what you guys think about the future of vat in south africa.
Thanks in advance.
